
Women’s Giving Circle
The Women’s Giving Circle, a component fund of the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, welcomes grant applications for organizations in Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio, Tyler and Wetzel Counties in West Virginia and Belmont and Jefferson Counties in Ohio. Organizations must address the following needs of women in our community:
- Increasing life skills of women and girls, ie: Pre-K through 12 Education, Economic Empowerment, Physical and Mental Health, Violence and Crime
- Encouraging the healthy development and personal authority of young girls
- Raising awareness of gender disparities in our community
To be eligible to receive a grant from the Women’s Giving Circle, the organization applying must be qualified as exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or be a similarly exempt government entity.
The following are excluded from consideration: organizations that promote a particular religious or political ideology; capital campaigns or endowments; dinner galas, advertising and other special fundraising events; contributions to the general fund of an organization; intermediary funding agencies; and scholarships.
Timeline
Applications accepted November 3, 2025 – December 18, 2025
Funding announcements expected late January/early February.
Please do not wait until the last few days to submit your grant application. Allow yourself and CFOV time to address any technical issues you may experience. Technical assistance is not guaranteed on the day of grant deadline.

Maximum request is $10,000 with an average award in recent years of $7,000.

Next Steps
Applications will be reviewed by an Advisory Committee, comprised of WGC members.
Funding decisions and announcements expected in late January or early February.
Grants and projects are to be completed within 12 months of date of funding. Grant reports are completed online through the software used for the applications.
