The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is a nonprofit organization created to facilitate philanthropy in the Upper Ohio Valley region. Established in 1972, CFOV has partnered with hundreds of donors to create charitable funds that give back in a variety of ways.
In partnership with our donors, CFOV has awarded more than $30 million in grants and scholarships across our 8-county region and beyond. Our long-term investment strategy permanently protects charitable funds for a perpetual resource for good.
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is confirmed in compliance with National Standards for Community Foundations.

Our mission is to enhance the vibrancy of the Upper Ohio Valley through meaningful charitable actions, strategic and initiative-driven investments, and thoughtful community leadership.

We envision the Upper Ohio Valley as a region of potential, where opportunities exist for all current residents and those who will follow. As an organization, CFOV embraces this call to action and commits to fostering an environment that promotes community betterment and measurable positive change.

OUR Service Area
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, Inc. serves the multi-county region that makes up the Upper Ohio Valley. The counties include: Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio, Tyler, and Wetzel counties in West Virginia and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio.
