Shelby Davis Joins Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley as New Communications Specialist

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) is proud to announce the appointment of Shelby Davis as their new communications specialist. A seasoned journalist and media professional, Davis brings a profound connection to the Ohio Valley and a wealth of experience that promises to elevate CFOV’s outreach and impact in the community. 

A lifelong resident of McMechen, Davis’s career is a testament to her dedication to the region. Many will recognize her from her time at WTRF 7 in Wheeling, where she served as a respected anchor and journalist. Her tenure in news was marked by her comprehensive coverage of breaking news, local politics, and community events, establishing her as a trusted voice in the Ohio Valley. 

Following her time at WTRF, Shelby transitioned to a digital role as the Social Media Manager for Straub Automotive. In this position, she managed six social media pages, creating and curating content that enhanced the company’s online engagement and presence. Most recently, she served as the Director of Media and Public Relations at Bethany College, where she developed and executed strategic media initiatives to bolster the College’s visibility and reputation. 

Shelby shared her excitement in joining CFOV, saying, “This role aligns perfectly with my passion for storytelling and my commitment to serving the community I’ve always called home. I look forward to advancing CFOV’s mission through innovative communication and community engagement.” 

CFOV’s Executive Director Susie Nelson expressed her enthusiasm about Davis’s appointment, saying, “I am ecstatic to welcome Shelby to our team. Her extensive background in media and her deep ties to the Ohio Valley make her an invaluable addition to our organization. Shelby’s expertise and dedication will undoubtedly enhance our ability to connect with and support our community.” 

CFOV looks forward to strengthening its communications and expanding its reach, fostering stronger connections and greater awareness of the foundation’s initiatives throughout the Ohio Valley.

We envision a region where all people can thrive, and we work with our donors to connect them to organizations that make the upper Ohio Valley vibrant and healthy.  

We help individuals, families, businesses, nonprofits, and other donors bring their philanthropic goals to life through the creation and stewardship of charitable funds. Annual distributions from these funds go back into the community as scholarships and grants to organizations.
