
RIVER VALLEY HEALTH Fund
The River Valley Health Fund (RVHF) was created as a result of the sale of Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital to Alecto Healthcare Hospitals, a for-profit health care system. The RVHF was created to carry out the charitable outreach activities of the former not-for-profit OVMC and EORH.
The Mission of the RVHF is to improve the health and well-being of the residents of the Ohio Valley.
Grants are made from the RVHF to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, fire/police departments and other similarly exempt organizations based in or serving Wheeling, WV, Martins Ferry, OH, St. Clairsville, OH, and the following counties: Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel in WV and Belmont, Jefferson, Monroe, Guernsey and Harrison in OH.
Funding Priorities:
Health education or services for vulnerable children, at-risk elderly, and indigent population
Education regarding health care and nutrition
Health care screenings
Food insecurity
Providing primary healthcare
Providing primary dental care
Timeline
Applications will be accepted the 1st Monday in June through the 2nd Friday in July (4:00pm)
Funding announcements expected in August.
Grant Reports will be due 12 months from date of funding. Grant reports are completed online through the software used for the applications.
Pro-Tip – Please do not wait until the last few days to submit your grant application. Allow yourself and CFOV time to address any technical issues you may experience. Technical assistance is not guaranteed on the day of the grant deadline.

Next Steps
Applications will be vetted by CFOV before forwarded to the RVHF advisory committee for determinations. Awards to be determined and distributed in August.
