Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley’s Unrestricted Fund Opens LOI
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) is pleased to announce the opening of the Letter of Intent (LOI) period for its Community Impact Fund. The LOI period will be open from November 1- December 8, 2023.
The Community Impact Fund is a pool of unrestricted funds that CFOV uses to support a variety of projects and programs that benefit the communities it serves. The fund’s focus areas for 2023-2024 are:
- Substance Abuse Prevention/Treatment
- Next Generation Leadership/Mentoring
- Youth Recreation/Activities
- Programs that enhance Economic Development and Workforce Development
While these are the fund’s focus areas, CFOV will also consider funding projects that fall outside of these areas if they are of great benefit to the community. In particular, CFOV is interested in funding projects that address the following needs:
- Mental health services
- Access to living-wage jobs
- Access to affordable childcare and transportation
To be eligible for this grant opportunity, organizations must be a 501(c)(3) as determined by the IRS, faith-based organization, or government entity (i.e. libraries, schools, etc.). Organizations must also provide services within the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Tyler and Wetzel in West Virginia and Belmont and Jefferson in Ohio.
To apply for funding, organizations must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through CFOV’s grant portal between November 1- December 8, 2023. The LOI should briefly describe the organization, the project or program for which funding is being requested, and the impact the project or program will have on the community.
If an organization’s LOI is approved, they will be invited to submit a full grant application. Full grant applications will be due in mid-December 2023. Funding decisions will be made in January 2024.
