WHEELING, W.Va. — Meet Tina DeWitt, the driving force behind the numbers and operations at the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV). DeWitt serves as the director of finance and operations, a role that encompasses all accounting functions and the many operational activities that keep CFOV running smoothly.

After previously serving as the controller from 2017 to 2020, she returned to CFOV late last year. DeWitt has a diverse background, including over 15 years in retail management and a role as an instructor in the Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University. While there, she taught entrepreneurship and general business courses and developed TopperThrift, an on-campus thrift store for students.

Outside of work, DeWitt and her husband have been dedicated beekeepers since 2016, steadily growing the number of hives each year to a current total of 36. In addition to beekeeping, they also operate a sawmill, creating unique woodworking projects from locally sourced wood. As empty nesters with their four kids scattered across the U.S., DeWitt and her husband keep themselves busy at home with these activities and their garden. Originally from Benwood and a proud Marshall County resident, she is also an active member of the Ladies League of Marshall County. Her commitment to community and personal growth is evident in all she does.

One of DeWitt’s memorable moments at CFOV was pooling funds during her previous tenure to prepare for a major software transition, a testament to her problem-solving skills. Her love for puzzles fuels her motivation at work, where she’s constantly driven by the challenge of creating change and moving forward.
When she’s not crunching numbers, you can find DeWitt tending to her garden, delving into a good book, or caring for her bees. She’s a lifelong learner, always open to change and new ideas, which she believes are key to personal and professional growth. Looking ahead, her goals remain rooted in continuous learning and improvement.
