The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) and its affiliate, GIVE Belmont County, recently announced the opening of the grant application period for the Belmont County Enrichment Fund (BCEF). From January 8, 2024, through February 2, 2024, eligible organizations are invited to apply for grants that contribute to the betterment of Belmont County.

Established in 2013 as the Smith-Goshen Rice Enrichment Fund by a group of Belmont County landowners and the former Rice Energy, the BCEF has consistently been dedicated to improving the local quality of life. The BCEF, alongside GIVE Belmont County, acknowledges the productive and enduring partnership with EQT Corporation and its Foundation, which acquired Rice Energy in 2017. This collaboration has enriched the scope and impact of the Fund’s philanthropic efforts in the community.

“Serving Belmont County through these grants is not just an act of giving but a way to connect and uplift our community,” said Susie Nelson, Executive Director of CFOV. “We are excited to continue supporting projects that bring meaningful improvements to our community.”

The BCEF is dedicated to funding a diverse range of projects by 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, fire/police departments, and other similarly exempt organizations within Belmont County. Over the years, the BCEF, through GIVE Belmont County, has provided over $520,000 in grants, significantly impacting the local community.
