WHEELING, W.Va. — 15 local organizations are receiving grants from the Women’s Giving Circle (WGC), an initiative of the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV), to fund important projects that support and serve women and girls in the Valley.
The WGC empowers women through philanthropy by making strategic, research-based grants that support programs addressing critical needs and opportunities for women and girls.
Since its founding in 2010, the WGC has grown from 17 members to over 100 dedicated women, collectively awarding more than $600,000 to local nonprofits. This year’s grants, totaling $54,900, will support programs across CFOV’s service area, which includes Jefferson and Belmont counties in Ohio, as well as Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, and Tyler counties in West Virginia.
“The Women’s Giving Circle continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and girls across our region,” say CFOV Executive Director Susie Nelson. “Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our members, we are able to support innovative programs that provide essential resources, education, and opportunities. We are proud to see the impact of these grants grow year after year.”
Together, these grants are expected to impact over 1,200 women and girls in the region.
